My classes in Mexico haven't been very hard at all, with the exception of one class: Mexican Civilization- in Spanish. This class is proving to be extremely difficult, for all of us. Some people are taking it in English, but I'm one of the lucky ones who has to take it in Spanish. This makes the class even harder due to important little details and vocabulary problems. We're currently studying the Pre-Columbian Mesoamerican civilizations, so among the Spanish words I have to decipher some Aztec, Mixe, and Maya words. Let me tell you- they had odd spellings for Pre-Columbian languages. Tonight is our first test, and we're all nervous and very busy studying.
Speaking of which, I should probably get back to studying. I need to figure out the political organization of several Mesoamerican cities...ick!
